Seems delicate and doesn't do great. Once I tried a regular basil that tasted strong and spicy. Did not care for the intensity. Sweet basil is less pungent.

One couple I know, buys fresh plants you take home and put in a water glass by the sink. They do a simple pizza on their out door fancy grill. They pick up dough already prepared in a bag, from, Winco. Roll out flat circles, put on, tomatoes, (canned, whole, that they crush) use fresh basil leaves, and then, sliced chunks of mozzarella cheese and then bake. It is wildly good considering the simplicity.

Try genovese. It has broad leaves, is highly productive, and grows in anything. talkingmime Mar 2013 #19
