I enjoyed my visits there. I always liked Arroyo Grande--maybe just because it has such a great name.

Pea Soup Andersen's at Buellton is overrated, but Solvang was always a fun trip.

Mom passed in a hospital in Lompoc, and it was the rare reunion of all of us three brothers together then that caused me to return to CA 13 years ago. The pull of family...

We lost my little brother, Jim, a couple years ago, but his widow still lives in Lompoc. My older brother and I are in the Antelope Valley (North L.A. County high desert), just a couple miles down the road from each other. And we were able to get together with Jim a lot on many visits after I moved back and before we lost him.

Here's one of Jim and me...

And all three of us on a fishing trip...
