14. I've had a feral cat for 13 years now.

Born in a field behind my house, the mother abandoned her much too early. The kitten wandered up to me and smelled my shoe. Today I'm still the only human that can touch her without a quick whack with her claws. Here's my best most-amazing story:
One day I was gardening in the back yard when a very large and menacing Great Dane came barking into the yard towards me. My cat (Rugrat) jumped off the picnic table and planted herself between me and the dog - back arched and hissing. The dog retreated. I was totally amazed as I "didn't think feral cats cared about humans." Such devotion! Since then she has had a special place in my heart.
