he's a smart guy on the show, but she is as well, if not smarter than him... and, she has a great, high-paying job, and he does not. He is kind of obnoxious, though he's not as bad as before, and she's usually a sweetheart. Maybe he makes her laugh more than previous boyfriends? Sex maybe? Plus, when they first introduced her, she was kind of nerdy, too, so maybe he helped her come out of her nerdy shell? (Still, she was a "hot" nerd even then...) They've certainly made it clear on the show several times that he should hang on to Bernadette as tightly as he can...
