9. One of our cats taught himself to use the toilet

Tommy was half-Siamese, a beautiful cat with tabby-like markings where a normal Siamese would have dark brown ones. I got him from an animal shelter. When he was a year old, I parked him with my father when I was between apartments. Dad liked him so much he refused to let me have Tommy back.

My brother was living with my father after Mom died, just two bachelors being slobs. Among other things, they saw no need to close the bathroom door, because there were no women around.

Tommy intently watched them doing their business. It seems he caught on quickly.

One day they saw him sitting on the throne, doing his thing. He even turned and tried to move the flush handle with his paw.

They laughed themselves sick, and took pictures the next time they saw Tommy going potty.
