I never liked earrings on little girls, and wanted to wait. Daughters when young not very insistent. I made my opinion clear, and husband (since separated) took them, when young, to booth at the mall and voila, one day, they come home with it done. I was pissed (and still am, since you reminded me.)
High school would have been OK with me, if they'd wanted it then. As it was, they were somewhere in elementary school. (And of course couldn't properly care for them, so they had to re-do years later, after infections.)
Mine have never been pierced.
