But I did my best, which I'm paying for these days! We still have the farm, but other people are running it now.

Yeah, a good mechanic would have been nice to have around. Neither my husband or I were good with machinery, so we had to pay others to do the maintenance on our tractor, etc.

I know you're going to love your new place - the spot you have picked out for the garden will be great. I don't know about where you are, but here in Florida, I would start killing off weeds this summer, even if you can't actually put a garden in this year. Here, we could put in some things to harvest over the fall and winter - except the deer would eat anything edible I planted. Maybe in a few years I will try a garden again - and surround it with electric fences to keep the deer, possums, bunnies, foxes, and raccoons out.
