I wasn't a kid anymore in about 1970 when this came out but I was barely out of my teens. I liked it and liked the TV commercials featuring an African lion in its native grasslands and the slogan "Simba - it goes for your throat." When I was truly a little kid, my parents would only buy 7-Up as if it were purer or less toxic than other brands like Coke or Dr. Pepper. It was like a forbidden fruit when we were traveling and my dad would give me some change for the gas station coke machine and I would try a Squirt or a Hires root beer.
