(3,702 posts)I have a very tolerant black cat who has lived with up to 4 large (80+ pound) dogs at a time. Now we have 2, and our german shepherd has a hard time realizing that kitty is not a dog. To be fair - kitty sleeps in their beds, steals their food and plays with their toys - so you can see why the GSD is confused.
He likes to mouth the cat - he opens his big mouth and the whole kitty head disappears in his mouth!! The first time I saw it I panicked and tried not to scream (didn't want to scare the dog and have him clamp down) - but kitty was unfazed...just took his head out, shook the drool off and went back to sleep - as though this was a daily occurrence. Probably is... but still. His head was soaked with drool. Nasty.
