FAME - David Bowie's last concert, June 2004, aged 56. [View all]

Where is today's great music? The best tour of 2010/11 was 'The Wall', which is coming back stateside this year.

I got to see David's 2004 Tour in Sydney. Simply Sensational. It makes me sad that music (and everything else) has gone so far downhill in the 2000s.

FAME. Twelve days later he was undergoing emergency angioplasty. He quit cocaine in 1976, and cigarettes in 1998.

"I'm so pissed off because the last 10 months of this tour have been so fucking fantastic," Bowie said in a statement. "Can't wait to be fully recovered and get back to work again. I tell you what, though, I won't be writing a song about this one."

At least he went out on top.
