The main thing is that you're happy--and can sleep content.
My favorite lamp used to be one that I made in shop in high school--until I got one at Pier 1 that was made to hold candles. It was frosted glass with a bamboo design--and I love bamboo. I bought a couple of antique Chinese wall hangings with bamboo designs, but I gave the best (and largest) one to a friend who is no longer a friend.
