5. Amazon has always taken care of it for me, no questions asked...

One thing, though. Was this US Postal service totally? Or was it UPS-transferred to USPS, which is quite common now. UPS transfers to the post office and it shows on the tracking that they did so, but then it takes a day or so before the Post Office delivers it to your home/box.

So, worth checking. If it was as I described, then she'll probably get it tomorrow.


ON EDIT: I see that you are saying it was a secondary seller. You'll have to deal with them, if you don't get it. But, Amazon will sometimes get involved. They (Amazon) directly refunded me AND sent me a $20 gift coupon for my trouble when a secondary seller refused to refund my money on a defective item until I sent the item back. Obviously, I was more than happy to send it back, but they were expecting ME to pay the return shipping, which would have been a minimum of $15 on a $59 item. I complained. Amazon reimbursed me and the seller sent me a pre-paid shipping label to send the merchandise back.
