I've had cats all my life, and you and your daughter are in for a treat.
My only words of wisdom are that kittens sometimes hit a phase where everything not bolted to the floor is a toy and they can be a little destructive. You might come home to a shredded roll of paper towels or a pile of toilet paper where they've pulled every bit of the roll off onto the floor. It also pays to make sure you don't have any plants that are toxic to cats where she can get to them because they sometimes chew on and eat them, too. Other than that, enjoy and take lots of pictures. Cats are the best and Marcelle is a doll.

Check your home for little things that may look like toys to a kitten (and even adult cat)
