In reply to the discussion: Who is the most famous person you've ever met? [View all]callous taoboy
(4,804 posts)70. Hung out with Ken Kesey and Hunter S. Thompson at Kesey's house one night.
Long story, but I got to ride on "Further" out to Kesey's place in Pleasant Hill, Oregon with Dr. Thompson and some Merry Pranksters. We sat around Kesey's kitchen table as he told stories until the wee hours. This was during the first Gulf War and Thompson was in fine form. He kept passing me shots of Wild Turkey.
Met David Byrne backstage in Austin because my girlfriend's cousin was playing violin in his band.
Saw George Goble drunk off his ass at a friend's house party in my home town after he had made an appearance.
