(21,925 posts)54. A wonderful old Russian song
about the crazy days of idealistic youth. It was translated into English and became a hit for Mary Hopkin in the late 60s (produced by Paul McCartney) with the title "Those Were The Days' (my friend, we thought they'd never end). Here it's sung in the original Russian by Ivan Rebroff, a German of Russian extraction who was a mega star in Europe in the 60s (Rebroff had the most amazing vocal range I've ever heard). Rebroff sang this song in several languages as well and had a hit across Europe.

There are little bits in my ear that were vibrating that had never been touched before.
