I appreciate it lots.

I still look up when I hear a creak in the house, thinking he's there. And every time I've opened my front door my eyes have looked for him -- he was an escape artist and loved to run outside past me when I came in... he'd hear my keys and be right there waiting to sneak out.

And I really miss my rumbly vibrating hot water bottle on the small of my back at night.

I know it'll get better with time.

And later this month I'll probably be taking in a pair of ones that look almost just like him, except not smushed up in the face and shorthaired.... a friend of mine's Mom passed on last year and they have been trying to find a home for her two cats. They're mom and daughter, and right now are stuck in a one bedroom apartment with another cat... it's overcrowded and my friend and his girlfriend are about at the end of their rope. They're old, and very cuddly lapcats... and while they'll not replace my Ninja, I know they'll give this place some life again.

Cuz it's awful empty right now.
