(4,653 posts)You should really let go of it! One way is to stop with the OPs that dredge up old arguments. That's how your posting history gets thrown back in your face. When you feel the need to post such an OP, take a deep breath, take a walk, draw a hot bath, do whatever floats your boat. Then reconsider the reasons why you feel compelled to post, and wait a few more hours. Also realize you'll never get 100% agreement on DU and elsewhere. For instance, i find huge flaws in your non-scientific research, and if your going to post about it on DU, then it's my right to air my views.
Do the same when you feel compelled to make rash judgments of others and how they're living their lives, take a a few minutes and think about it before posting your thoughts on DU. I'm of the live and let live attitude. Unless I see someone taking advantage of those less fortunate, or bullying, I choose not to make assumptions about another person and how they live.
All this stress surely does you no good, so why not let it go!
YMMV
On edit: the thread about your late sister, http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022499019. I'm still sorry she lost her battle at a young age. However, I'm happy she had gov't resources to help her and her family while she was alive. If only all persons with disabilities were so fortunate to get benefits, and have the belief and support from their friends and family.
