(10,558 posts)Living in Washington State was my salvation, I grew pot for a living for a lot longer than I care to admit. It paid the bills and not much else so technically I have been unemployed for the entire time. It's sorta legal now and I guess OK to be out of the closet about that. Disc Golf (Frisbee golf) is a great CHEAP source of outdoor recreation and exercise, I strongly recommend looking into it as a way to get out of the house. You will find lotsa gamers there too btw, gamers of all ages. I am almost 60 and I can guarantee you that I aint the oldest gamer out on our disc golf course.
Being at home a lot, I got into video gaming. I mastered all things HALO, which is still my fave game series but I confess to spending even more time in the Elder Scrolls series. I created countless characters in Oblivion, ran a few of them all the way up to where the game glitches out and you have to abandon them as unplayable, (I think that happens around the 500 hour mark.) You have likely seen a similar glitch in Skyrim too, after so many hours there are places you just can not go but at least you can still play them in most places which is an improvement over Oblivion.
I also max out the difficulty, had to after the first time I got bad-assed enough to take out a dragon with a single arrow dipped in poison. Like you I also like to do everything but the main quest. I generally do the main quest long enough to open up the shout ability and then I do anything other than the main quest that strikes my fancy. I early on found the gift that keeps on giving up in Dawnstar, its a buried chest that replenishes on a somewhat regular schedule so I take my young characters there straight-off. This means gold coinage is never an issue. I could not tell you how many characters I have ran through this game but more than a few. My current character hasn't tackled Dawnguard yet but her and her wife are busy hanging out on that dreary Dunmer island close to Morrowind.
