But I rarely get bit.

Dress properly, don't happen.

Don't use perfumed soaps, deodorants, colognes - ANYTHING that "smells nice".

On super hot days where I want to be outside, and it is too warm to "dress properly",

I smother myself in baby oil, from below the eyes downwards, and wear only what I call "Greaser Shorts" -

baby oil is greasy - but you never get bit.

NOBODY in the Bug World likes Baby Oil.

Mosquitos jump off ya as soon as they touch the skin, stupid blackflies wander around in the grease till they die, wasps, hornets, deer flies, horse flies - whatever - they won't land for more than a nanosecond - then they are gone.

Funny thing - after a while, the larger guys stop even buzzing around, as if they communicate with each other

hmmm, eh?

The ONLY place I use bug dope is above my eyes, and in my hair, but most of it will go on a hat I will always wear in bug season - (you got it - my Greaser Hat! )

Although messy, Baby Oil is MUCH cheaper than any bug dope remedy, and should not have to say it, but I will,

IT's SKIN FRIENDLY!
