(225 posts)The procedure itself is not a big deal. With luck, you will remember none of it.
You MUST have someone else drive you home, because the Versed causes amnesia and you can, like, forget you're driving a car.
I've had different experiences with the prep. The first time it was not bad. None of the discomfort I expected from "diarrhea." I had to hang around in the bathroom with a book for hours ,but that was it.
However, apparently they no longer, in most places, use that preparation, some Fleet stuff that has been linked to kidney damage. The more recent time they had me take lots and lots of Miralax and Ducolax. The prep was horrible. I was weak and seriously concerned for my heart (I'm not a spring chicken.) I stopped at about the 6 times mark rather than continue to all 8 because I just couldn't do it. Fortunately 6 was enough to have things emptied out.
