My GI doc's practice routinely uses it now. I was told I'd wake up feeling refreshed, but it knocked me silly. I found it hard to "wake up" fully and had to be helped to dress and leave. That stuff was just too strong!
At my advanced age, and with several colonoscopies with completely normal outcomes (and no family history of colon cancer, or any cancer) I told the doc "sayonara." She understood. I explained that as I got older I found the prep to be too rough on my system. In your 50s it's no big deal. Even in my 60s it was fine. But in the mid 70s, uh, uh.

I second that suggestion about eating light for a couple of days before fasting! It helps.
