. . .if after awhile, you're shitting WATER instead of solid matter, you're doing it right. Don't stop - do the whole bottle. All of it.
The doctor will knock you out completely before the procedure. It lasts about an hour, but you won't know it or feel it.
However, PLEASE ensure that you have transportation by a friend or a relative both before and after the procedure. In fact, do NOT drive any type of vehicle afterwards for the rest of the day and night. Do not have ANY alcoholic beverages either during that time. It takes that amount of time for the anesthetic to wear off and flush out completely.
You can return to driving a vehicle the next day.

I second that suggestion about eating light for a couple of days before fasting! It helps.
