he was very down and even said he thought he might be going, back when I saw him xmas eve, but then he really picked back up and seemed to making a comeback. New Year's Eve he was pretty upbeat but worried he couldn't hack the rehab regimen at the new (old) place. Next thing I knew Monday night, they moved him out of the rehab place to the nearby hospital. That was the last time I talked to him. He even laughed about the corn cob joke. Then Tuesday they called and moved him again to UMC, they thought they might be going to have to remove his pacemaker as it was the source of a bad infection they could not get rid of, but he was too sick for that and they called this morning to ask if I wanted to be with him. Of course I went. He went pretty fast after I got there, and he was not suffering long. He had beautiful people at UMC making sure he was comfortable and treating him with respect and dignity. That is why he liked that hospital. Circles of three years ago when Gabby Giffords was taken there.
I am so sorry the post I started this morning was misleading. I couldn't write what was imminent and I thought using "light" instead of "vibes" would be a good hint, but I was wrong. I felt so bad when I got back and saw that everybody was still hopeful.
