Frankly, the cliché of Brit cultural and verbal superiority vs American-not is often striking. Some of us come across as dunderheads: Robert DOWNEY, Jr; the late whassisname from Easy Rider (will Edit when Google updates my brain) Dennis HOPPER. Otoh, the Brits do come across as craving American wealth and success, and also as Old World backward a bit: Once NORTON did a bit, walking in the street, and some people in the crowd actually panhandled him as his being famous and presumably rich.
