and a step-brother but none are twins. You are correct - mayo would be revolting to me too. I like it on some things (turkey sandwich for instance) but I've seen other cream cheese based dips that called for mayo and I just would never do it.
the sour cream though, that sounds interesting...
TO my knowledge dad never went much further west than Del Rio, Texas so if y'all are Californians it's unlikely he got his recipe from your dad's friend. Unless you know they came out east at some point.
