and keep her mentally unstable son at home.
So on the weekends, their family tradition is to watch football. Well the son is always trying to get out of the house. The Mom in the story implores her son every weekend to stay and watch the game with her best "persuasive" line...
"I'm making crabby snacks!"
Your OP reminded me of that scene and how "powerful" her crabby snacks were since they always kept the son at home watching the game!
She was probably using your dad's recipe!
