Sorry.
Again, you are interjecting opinion which not too many others seem to share.
Dignity noun;
1 the state or quality of being worthy of honour or respect: the dignity of labour
OK...I'll give you that. But the question is really can an animal LOSE its dignity? I say no, it cannot. Only in the humans eye.
1.1 [count noun] a high rank or position: he promised dignities to the nobles in return for his rivals murder
Regardless of how many feel about their cats, nope. Sorry.
2a composed or serious manner or style: he bowed with great dignity
Time and time again, with video after video and picture after picture, dogs and cats RARELY display a "composed or serious manner" unless you count being pissed off dinner is late. (Edit - unless they are HIGHLY trained)
2.1a sense of pride in oneself; self-respect: it was beneath his dignity to shout
This is arguable for any animal that willingly and takes glee in rolling in feces. By any normal human standard, that is not dignified. It can be funny, but it ain't dignity. Not by a long shot.
Re: the Lion;
Actually, he is doing it for purely instinctual reasons ie: to smell like his prey. He isn't doing it for fun or to have a bloody good giggle or because he is enjoying himself. He is doing it because nature and evolution have told him that if he does it, it will make it easier for him to get closer to and subsequently kill a Rhino. Plain and simple. See my point?
Probably not.
Edit; BTW, I explained why your post got the responses it did. You are tilting at a windmill. The only problem is that NO ONE else sees it the way you do, thus making your quest one that lacks an audience, much less a justified one.
OK, fine. You are in your late 60's.
