(27,787 posts)knew me. My mother and sister have always thought it was hilarious. Its happened in front of them so many times. And its never one of them that the person thinks they know, always me.
I was back in Philly visiting my sister this summer, and we went to the store, after 10 minutes, woman walks up and starts talking to me ... sure she knows me ... thought she meet me a week earlier. Which was impossible because I was in NC a week earlier. My sister could not stop laughing. She couldn't believe that it still happens.
The other thing I find, these folks all assume that I hold all the same positions that they hold. Then they start talking like we're old friends. Telling me some of the wildest, often inappropriate, stories and slurs you can imagine. The conversations are very "interesting".
I am, average Joe.
