In reply to the discussion: Mamakitty, 1999 - 4/7/2014 [View all]she was in good health her whole life until this winter. lost a lot of weight fast, took her to the vet and they said she was in remarkably good health in terms of everything but a little anemia and some blood in her urine - figured it was a fast running gastro-intestinal cancer. I was going to take her in tomorrow as she quit eating on Friday night, but I could tell last night and this morning it was going to be today.
I held her almost to the end. She wanted down, but could not stand so I made a nest in a cardboard box. A couple hours later she stopped breathing. I am glad she died here and didn't have to endure a 30 minute drive to the vet.
