12. The big advantage of hurricanes is you get a lot more warning

Than you do for tornadoes. The disadvantage is they are a lot bigger so if you have to evacuate, you've got lots of company and competition for places to stay.

I'd say living on the coastal areas of the Southeast is a point in favor of most of the inhabitants being Republican. As a native Floridian, I believe only idiots live right on the beaches and barrier islands. Idiots = Republicans.
