8. Oversimplification, I'm sure,

but I have often read/heard that you are represented by the other things/people, etc., in your dreams.
If you think of each of the things, situations, people in your dream as aspects of yourself rather than what they are in your dream, does it seem to reveal anything to you?

The most recent explanation of dreams I heard was that it gives our brains a way to sort out and file or discard stuff that we encountered, to make room for more stuff. I just read much of the wiki page you linked to, and saw a reference to that.
