I just listened to an NPR segment about how good it is for our brains to keep learning something that requires concentration. One older man was learning how to use a digital camera and Photoshop, and he said he had never touched a computer before that. Quilting was another activity that requires a lot of focus and hand-eye coordination. I'm 63, and I'm going back to learning a graphics program (my older mac doesn't support Photoshop). My 19-year-old son does these things with such ease, if I get stuck it will be less than 1 1/2 months until he's home from college and I can get his help.
