The list is compiled from Rolling Stones top 100 singers of all time and then they added some currently popular singers to bring it to say 125 people. Then they analyzed all/most of their recorded music to find those that had the largest vocal range within their recorded songs. http://www.concerthotels.com/worlds-greatest-vocal-ranges

My question is how the hell did TomWaits make number 12? I only own Reservoir Dogs but I can't believe that gravelly voice really hit lots of highs and lows. I'll have to pull that back out and take a listen.

Edit: Knew gravely didn't look right but took me ten minutes of dictionary searches to find the word I meant to use. Still doesn't look right.
