litter, when I found her collapsed and abandoned on my neighbor's driveway. The vet estimated her age and rehydrated her. She took to my lap almost immediately and from the first night, slept on the bottom of my bed. As I have allergies, I never had a pet, so this was a new experience for me. Eight years later and she is my daily joy.
