(68,422 posts)91. Most males are ready for neutering at 6 months. I had one, though, that became
sexually mature a few days shy of 5 months. I took him in for neutering when that became obvious. They start spraying if you wait too long, and once that starts, it doesn't usually ever get completely cured!
When I took my precocious boy cat in for neutering, the vet was a bit surprised, but after checking him out, he agreed that it was time to get it done.
