It was a Christmas show on the U.S. Air Force base in Wiesbaden, West Germany where my dad was stationed and the base school's 3rd grade teacher ordered me to learn the words and melody of the German carol Ihr Kinderlein Kommet ("Oh Come Little Children&quot . It didn't bother me at all at that age and I had fun; I was afraid of nothing when I was a little kid. My voice wasn't that bad, either. Unfortunately my voice changed a few years later and didn't have the same purity, range, or power and singing in front of people made me shy. The carol became one of my favs for Christmas ever since.
