The story has changed over the years, back in the day (80s) it was said that she was singing "phonemic sounds" that suited the emotion she was conveying. Later it was modified to "some phonemic sounds, some words here and there and some foreign words".
Once I got my head around what they were doing I didn't care about lyrics. Most 25-year-olds have little of substance to say anyway. And her voice is so beautiful and expressive she really doesn't need words 
Really, there is no one I'd rather hear sing.
By the time of FCC, Robin and Liz were split up and tensions were very high (hence Bluebeard). I haven't really paid attention to Summerhead perhaps I will.
If you have never heard it listen to the mostly "acoustic" album that just Robin and Liz did in their home studio, called Victorialand. Just stunning!
