Yeah, the arrangement has that great sleazy bass line, but the lyrics aren't the sort of happyfuntime Prince sex song that some people seem to think it is.
Especially if you take it within the context of the other songs on the album, it seems to be about the narrator using sex as a crutch to fill a huge emotional void and avoid dealing with extreme depression.
