Kitten Rescued from Drainage Ditch After Being Stuck for a Week [View all]

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) - A kitten that survived for almost a week without food or water was rescued from a a drainage ditch on the city's northwest side Thursday morning.
The manager of the Snappy's convenience store in the 5600 block of Leopard said that she had seen the kitten last Friday. One of her employees told her Thursday that the cat was still there, so she put out a call to a local animal rescue page on Facebook.
The rescue got underway just after 11 a.m. in front of the store. Stella Neal of Rescue Group 361, a local animal rescue group, arrived on the scene with boards and other materials to push the kitten out. With some patience and a little elbow grease, the small group managed to get the cat out of the drainage ditch in about three hours.
One good samaritan, Rachael Serafini, stepped up to provide shelter for the kitten.
