was to walk as slowly as I needed to in order to not limp. Gaining strength is first, speed later. Now, 20 years later, although I still have a severed ACL in one knee and torn cartilage in the other I don't walk with a limp and I get around pretty well for an old broad. I'm sure you will do even better than that!!!
