(12,250 posts)and I live in western Nebraska with my husband of 46 years. We have three grown children, three grown granddaughters, and two grandsons ages 8 and 1 1/2. In January, well be great-grandparents. Times flies. Just the other day, we were young.
I play a variety of musical instruments Celtic harp, Irish whistles, bodhran, violin, cello, ukulele (a little), bowed psaltery (fun with two bows!) and hammer dulcimer. I have a didgeridoo, but Ive never gotten the hang of how to make those cool boing-oing-oing sounds with it. I write short stories sometimes, and several of my stories were published by the now closed-to-submissions online horror/dark fantasy magazine The Harrow. The biggest thrill of my writing career was when my website containing all the stories Id written was selected as an editors choice by the now-defunct website called Bookwave. My oldest obsession is paleontology, and my newest is genealogy.
My husband and I love animals, and we always spoil our pets because we adore them. Heres a picture of our poodle son Ty (he found us 3 years ago, as a poor, scared, hungry, cold, sick little guy) and his cousin Abigail L. Parsons, who was my late sisters dog. Abby is now our little doggy daughter. Pardon my blue underpants in the doorway. Sometimes Ty and Abby raid the bathroom clothes hamper because they have no toys.
