I used to be a nurse, and I saw this all the time. You can't really do anything (except of course just being there for her is HUGE.) and so you feel helpless.

You do help her by your simple presence...

Just love her and stand by her. Let her know that you love her still, that this diagnosis won't change her in your eyes...

Believe me, that will help her.
