1. Hollywood likes to put pretty people in their movies so, under 30 and in their 20's is the sweet spot.

2. Geeks that are fit enough or have fit people to fight for them is also a "type" for the movies.

So yeah, the cool people get to live/survive a bit longer & everyone else is z-bait. Sounds about right.
