If this particular POTUS failed to do it they'd be all over him so it would be crazy to hand them an "issue".... albeit an idiotic one.
I'm agnostic but I'm not gonna jump out the window if an otherwise progressive ( not that Obama's so progressive) pol does the "godblessamerica" thing.
It's like saying "gezundheit."
