I was in VA helping sis-in-law care f/ my ill bro. I'd go to McD's f/ breakfast & eat out on patio. This little black furry ball would climb over the fence to help me eat (he preferred biscuit to the sausage).
One rainy day, I was in garage & I saw this miserable soaked creature tapping on window. He'd jumped into chair to get to door's window. He was mine from then on.
I didn't even bother to tell neighbor. I'd seen their kids put him in a plastic pumpkin & hang him in tree. They don't even get outdoor pets rabies shots. Besides, it was approaching Halloween & I didn't want to think what they'd do to a 4-5 month old black cat on Oct 31.
He was a best friend f/ about 11 years.
