We had a mutual friend. My bf gave our mutual friend my phone number and told him to call me. He said I thought he was cute. Omigod.

So he called me, and I was damned if I was going to sit in the dorm while all my friends went out.

This went on for some weeks. He would call, and I would go out with him.

One day I realized he was a super thoughtful, very smart and lovely young man, and I decided I was going to love him. The rest was easy...

The old boyfriend? Many months later, he came back. It was too late. I felt bad, but I'd cast my lot with my then fiance.

We were married 13 months after we'd met...and are still going strong 46 years later.
