If you have a long layover at LAX, there's a nice lounge on the food court level of the International Terminal. You have to go out from the arrivals area and go back in again, but straight ahead from the top of the escalator there's a lounge that's open to anyone who is willing to pay $10 an hour. It has dim lighting, comfy recliners, and food and drink. I used it once when I had five hours between arrival from Japan and check in for my flight to MSP.
