Thank you Raine1967 and thank you Thom Hartmann!!!!!!!! [View all]
I got to Spain last night (here for work) and too tired to go out for a late dinner, just plopped down in my hotel bed and booted up the old laptop. A rather unusual occurrence: DU mail? to me? That is a rare event, indeed. I opened it up, and Raine1967 let me know that Thom Hartmann--for real--had mentioned my book, The Time Cellar, during the first hour of his program yesterday, March 11. If you can find the podcast, it's 17:30-19:40 more or less.
Someone had given him a heads-up about it somewhere, somehow. He said he didn't recall exactly. An even greater fan of Jefferson than I am, Thom Hartmann has written a whole book about him. I used some of Thom's insights on Jefferson to form his "live" persona in my book, and gave him due credit at the end. He mentioned that on his program, too.
He said it was a "delightful" book, and he "couldn't put it down."
OK, this probably won't get me to the New York Times bestseller list, but such kind words from someone I admire as much as I admire Thom Hartmann is something I find to be an honor beyond any kind of monetary remuneration. Getting such a comment on a nationally syndicated program probably won't be detrimental, either!
My sincere gratitude to DUer Raine1967 for bothering to let me know about this. I would just have fallen asleep thinking about the dinner I never went out to get. Needless to say, I forgot all about food when I heard about this!
