73. Great thread, LynneSin - now watch me sink it!

I'm Nancy from Colorado and have been a member since around 2004/5 - I truly don't remember. I don't post a ton but when I do it's usually in the Lounge and my threads & posts tend to sink like a rock. I found DU during the Kerry/bush race and thought I was going to be physically ill about the results. I was a sympathizer for Cindy Sheehan, donating pizza to Camp Casey and have had one massive blow-up thread on DU related to the death penalty.

I've always been personally fiscally conservative and very socially liberal and I have a whole lotta crazy republics in my family who spout limbaugh, o'reilly, and the rest of the loser conservadorks from faux and AM radio. I dislike family reunions where I'm called the "democrat cousin"; hence my use of republics to describe them. Childish, isn't it?

Single and no human children but have Kellie & Linus - my wonderful Lab and rescue orange tabby boy. They are the best pets and I treasure them more today than yesterday. My DU name abbey was for my first kitty, Abbey - she was a 'runt of the litter' barn kitten when I got her and I miss her a great deal.

I'm a Colorado native having lived in this grand state my entire life. I'm a die hard Denver Bronco fan (Tebow, not so much), love the Colorado Rockies and any University of Denver team (my alma mater). I love Colorado State Football, Nebraska Football and follow the San Diego Chargers and Padres. I love all the beauty that Colorado has to offer and get out and around to a lot of my favorite places in the state: Breckenridge, Grand Mesa, Lake City, Gunnison, Horsetooth Reservoir, Hudson Gardens, Guanella Pass, Cottonwood Pass and Evergreen.

I'm a foodie and should join the appropriate forum here but have been too lazy. I'm a fan of good red wine (French or Italian, preferably), Pinot Grigio and unoaked Chardonnays. I make a good margarita and a knockout afterdinner drink of brandy, Frangelico and other tasty cordials. I will cook and eat just about anything but organ meat, roadkill & rodents.

Like LynneSin, I saw Shaun Cassidy in my formative (pre-teen) years and have developed an eclectic taste in music. The last 5 songs on my iPod were:

I love DU and am becoming a fan of DU3 - I'm a fan of change and this new version seems pretty cool. I've lots of crazy, good, scary and touching posts here on DU. I mourn the great DUers who have left us too soon and while I might not comment, I generally shed tears each time anyone in our DU family has lost a beloved pet.

I developed a mad 'virtual' crush on another DUer due to his fabulous vacation photography - but was away from here for so long, I forgot his name - how crazy is that?

Would love to meet fellow DUers in Colorado should there ever be another opportunity, like 2008, to meet up.
