3. I use Boost Mobile and...

one of their Motorola phones. A hundred bucks or so for the phone and 45 bucks a month flat with no contract and no problems.

Boost uses the Sprint network, so coverage isn't as good as Verizon's, but that's no problem where I usually use the phone.
